Knoxville: Situated in the Tennessee Valley, between the Great Smoky Mountains to the east and Cumberland Plateau to the west, Knoxville is known for having a unique mix of natural beauty, outdoor adventure, and cultural attractions. With a metropolitan area population of approximately 900,000, Knoxville is served by McGhee Tyson Airport (approximately 12 miles south of downtown), which has nonstop flights to more than 25 destinations. The average high temperature during the time of the conference is 53 degrees. Conference Venue: The 2024 ASMA Conference will be held in the newly-renovated Student Union building on the University of Tennessee campus (address: 1502 Cumberland Ave). The facility features several meeting spaces ideal for hosting presentations as well as a ballroom for the Friday luncheon. Accessible parking at the conference site will be available for those with accessible parking plates/placards.
Conference Hotel: The Cumberland House hotel will serve as the official hotel of the 2024 ASMA Conference. The Cumberland House is situated 0.3 miles from the conference site, a walk of approximately 6 minutes (see map below). There is also a free trolley (orange line), which has stops directly in front of the hotel and Student Union. UPDATE (12/7/2023): The primary conference hotel (Cumberland House) has only king and king suite rooms remaining.
