The Journal of Applied Sport Management (JASM), the official publication of the Applied Sport Management Association, is a quarterly peer-reviewed journal providing the latest research in all aspects of applied sport management including organizational behavior/theory, marketing, law, economics, finance, facility/event management, communication and media relations, sponsorship and sales, governance, and ethics.
The mission of JASM is to develop, advance, disseminate, promote, and preserve knowledge within the academic discipline of sport management by providing an outlet that is both grounded in academic theory and driven by the needs of practitioners and the environment of the sport industry. Unique to JASM is a split-focus review board consisting of academicians and practitioners.

At the end of 2018, Dr. Matthew Walker will complete his three-year term as Managing Editor of the Journal of Applied Sport Management. Dr. Erianne Weight, current Associate Editor, will assume the responsibilities of Managing Editor, and we are pleased to announce that Dr. Mar Magnusen will begin as the new Associate Editor.
We are excited about the current state and future of JASM and ASMA and hope to continue strengthening our unique role of providing an outlet that is both grounded in academic theory and driven by the needs of practitioners and the environment of the sport industry. In addition to the unique 15-page concise format of the journal, we are now beginning an initiative to launch special issues driven by the needs of practitioners in the field. This endeavor will be spearheaded by Dr. Scott Tainsky, and we’re happy to have him join the JASM leadership team. Please visit the JASM website for more information about the journal’s format and the process of submitting a manuscript: http://js.sagamorepub.com/jasm
